Ecos de Siboney

Ecos de Siboney
Jazz im Brunnenhof 2026
Trier, Brunnenhof
An der Porta Nigra, 54290 Trier (Germany) - map
True poetry oscillates between melancholy and joie de vivre – a balance that Ecos de Siboney masterfully achieve. Their name, "Echoes of Siboney," is a tribute to Cuba's indigenous roots and the longing for home. As grandsons of the legendary Compay Segundo, Ernesto, Leonardo, and Alejandro Repilado carry a tremendous legacy: their grandfather, architect of modern Son Cubano and a leading figure in the Buena Vista Social Club, personally appointed them his successors.
Under the credo "Somos los herederos" (We are the heirs), they bring the world-renowned star's musical poetry to Trier. Alongside immortal classics like "Chan Chan" and "Guantanamera," the eight-member octet presents award-winning original compositions that breathe new life into the traditional Son. When the tres guitar resonates in the courtyard, Havana and Trier merge into one. And it turns out: The grandchildren are not only preserving their grandfather's legacy – with every note, they are leaving their own unique and unmistakable mark.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
