In the 1960s, Fatih Cevikkollus' parents came to Germany as migrant workers from Turkey. It was actually only supposed to be a short stay. Symbolic of the imminent return and the great happiness at home, there was a whole wall of boxes in which everything that was beautiful and valuable was stored - for later life in Turkey. Cevikkollu talks about his parents' life in Germany, but especially about his mother, who suffered from severe psychosis. What does it do to people when they realize at some point that their dream of returning has not come true? A book that explores the consequences of labor migration and makes visible the wounds that it has left in families to this day.

Fatih Çevikkollu is a German cabaret artist, theater, film and television actor and the son of Turkish parents who came to Germany as migrant workers in the 1960s. He studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and then went to the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. On television he played the role of Murat Günaydin in Alles Atze. In 2006 he was awarded the Prix Pantheon jury prize for his first solo program Fatihland.
